Todd Collins
Todd Collins was an All-State and All-American linebacker for the State Champion Jefferson County football team. Collins was the Class AAA Mr. Football for Tennessee and 1987 National Defensive Player of the Year. His senior year stats: Catches (24), Yards (519), Touchdowns as tight-end (10). As linebacker: Solo Tackles (118), Assists (115), Interceptions (5), Sacks (13), and Recovered Fumbles (6). Collins played for University of Georgia and University of Tennessee before transferring to Carson Newman where he helped lead his team to a national title. He was drafted in 3rd round by New England and later traded to the St. Louis Rams. Collins played in Super Bowls for both the Patriots and Rams. Part of the compensation the Patriots got from the Rams was the 199th draft pick in the 2000 draft - which they used to draft Tom Brady. Collins has represented the FCA at numerous churches and national conferences. |
