Robbie Norris
Coach Robbie Norris was a fixture on the sidelines of the Sullivan North Golden Raiders for over two decades, where he served as Head Coach 2006-2017 and accumulated a record of 85-50. Prior to becoming the Head Coach at North, Coach Norris was a player for the Raiders, then served as Assistant Coach for North 1996-2001, and then four years as Assistant Coach for Dobyns-Bennett. During his tenure as Head Coach, Coach Norris led the Raiders to the TSSAA 4A playoffs in 2008-2009, and continued building a very successful program every year, making the playoffs 9 times, winning the conference and regional title in both 2011 and 2017, and made the State Quarterfinals twice. Coach Norris stepped down from coaching to become the Athletic Director at North following the 2017 season to devote his time to administration at his alma mater. He served as AD until the school closed in 2021 and then he became the Offensive Coordinator at the new West Ridge High School (which was a merger of Sullivan North, Sullivan South, and Sullivan Central). Coach Norris is currently Assistant Coach at Rye Cove. Coach Norris is known as a true professional and person of the highest integrity. He has a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field. Coach Norris is known by his players as tough on the foundations of integrity, hard work, principle, and team work. These are characteristics that have stuck with his players throughout their lives. Coach Norris is not only a pillar in his community, but a community leader and role model, and has supported the Mountain Empire Chapter of the National Football Foundation since its inception if 2014. Coach Norris was named Tennessee Titans High School Football Coach of the Week in 2011. Coach Norris lived his motto: "Once a Raider, Always a Raider." |
