Ken Green
Coach Ken Green began his 5 decade Head Coaching career in 1968 at Cumberland High School in Harlan County, KY and was the Head Coach at Daniel Boone High School from 1972-2001. To get the job at Daniel Boone, Green promised to beat their county rival David Crockett, and he did in his first year with 30-8 victory. This was just one of his many successes over his long and storied coaching career. Green received Coach of the Decade in the 1970’s for the Upper Lakes Conference. His teams were known for physicality and being tough and hard nosed. Daniel Boone football field was named Ken Green Field in 2016. Coach Green is one of the most caring individuals in the Mountain Empire area. He cared for his players and was compassionate about each player’s life outside of football. He is a man of high character and instilled this quality in his players. Coach Green served on the Washington County Commission for 8 years and worked hard for the people. He is a man of faith and serves on many charities in Washington County. |
