Josh Holt
Josh Holt graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2015 and became the first scholarship recipient from the National Football Foundation Mountain Empire Chapter. Holt played 4 years of high school football for the Dobyns-Bennett Indians playing in every varsity game but 2 since his freshman year. Throughout his career he amassed 404 tackles, 9 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, 1 defensive touchdown, and 2 blocked field goals on defense. Holt also was a prominent figure on the offensive side of the ball; throwing for 10 passing touchdowns, rushing for 9, and having a single reception for a touchdown. He amounted to around 1,100 rushing yards and 1,000 passing yards throughout his career. During his junior year, Holt played both ways as starting quarterback and strong safety along with multiple special teams plays. Holt had a 4.3 GPA and was a member of multiple school clubs including student government, Spanish club and BETA club. His senior year, Holt was named Dobyns- Bennett’s MVP and Mr. Indian Award. |
