FRED SORRELLS
Fred Sorrells, graduated from Petersburgh High School, TN in 1955. He received a football scholarship to Carson Newman College, where he lettered 3 years. Sorrells served as athletic director and head coach at Greeneville High School for 22 years (1977-1999), with a record of 163-83. Sorrells had 10 consecutive winning seasons (1989-1999). He has also coached basketball, track, wrestling, soccer, softball, and volleyball. He has taught in Greeneville, Jefferson City, Dandridge and Hendersonville North Carolina. He was instrumental in the development of FCA chapters in Hendersonville and Jefferson County High Schools. Sorrells won the National Football Foundation - Mountain Empire Coach's Award in 2015. |
