Austin Hicks
Austin Hicks graduated from Happy Valley High School in 2017. Hicks was a 3-time All-County; 4-time All-Conference; named underclassman of the year; 2-time Johnson City Press Elite 11; Elite 11 Defensive Player of the Year (2016); Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year (2016); Carter County Defensive Player of the Year; Donovan Stewart's Class 2A All-State; 2-time winner of the ‘Jarring’ Jack Garland Award; and named as the Warrior's MVP. In 2016, Hicks totaled 170 tackles, 6 sacks, & 4 fumble recoveries, while rushing for 840 yards and 14 touchdowns. He had a career total of 469 tackles. Hicks excelled academically and was a 4-year Top 10%; 4-year honor roll; Valedictorian (class of 2017); member of National Honor Society; enrolled in honor classes and dual-enrollment, graduating with 15 college credits. He was a Carter County Chamber of Commerce Tennessee Scholar. He then attended ETSU. Hicks was a member of FCA; landscaped the football field; volunteered for Happy Valley Elementary Fall Festival for 3 years; and was a member of the Warrior's Leadership Council. |
